Incorporation of Malay-Sino

Year 1976

Commencement of manufacturing operations at Lahat plant producing liquid caustic soda, hydrochloric acid and sodium hypochlorite

Year 1980

Entry of Batu Kawan Berhad (BKB) as a major shareholder in Malay-Sino

Year 1981

Malay-Sino Agro Chemical Products Sdn Bhd is established producing Methyl Chloride (3,600 metric tonnes per annum)

Year 1991

Completion of new chlor-alkali plant in Lahat using membrane cell technology to replace mercury cell (18,000 ECU per annum)

Year 1992

Cessation of mercury cell process.

Year 1994

Malay-Sino Lahat receives ISO 9002 accreditation from SIRIM Malaysia

Year 1996

Completion of second chlor-alkali plant in Lahat, bringing the total installed capacity to 33,000 ECU per annum

Year 1998

New chlor-alkali plant (24,000 ECU per annum) is established in Kemaman, Terengganu producing liquid caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite and liquid chlorine

Completion of ferric chloride plant in Lahat.

Malay-Sino Kemaman receives Product Certification License of SIRIM (MS171:1973) for its liquid chlorine

Malay-Sino Kemaman receives ISO 9002 accreditation from SIRIM Malaysia

Malay-Sino receives ISO 9001 : 2000 accreditation from SIRIM Malaysia

Malay-Sino receives ISO 9001 : 2008 accreditation from SIRIM Malaysia

Expansion of Methyl Chloride Plant (installed capacity 7,200 metric tonnes per annum)

Year 2011

Phase 1 expansion of Malay-Sino Kemaman plant, with an increase of 30,000 ECU per annum

Year 2013

Completion of phase 2 expansion at Malay-Sino Kemaman bringing the total installed capacity to 84,000 ECU per annum
